Description Following age-old tradition, this is the real deal boerseep (literally translated to “farmer’s soap”), made from nothing but waste tallow, lye and water, using the cold-process the farmers of old used. Theirs was a true zero-waste lifestyle – making do with what was at their disposal, letting nothing go to waste and perfecting their craft over time. Thus was born the famous boerseep – an excellent stain remover of oils, fats, mud, blood, dirt, wine and pretty much anything you can think of. They could also use it on pretty much any surface… think pots, pans, carpets, laundry, floors, tiles, bath, windows, blood-stained clothes, muddy shoes, soiled nappies, and even just as a normal soap on skin, etc…. very versatile indeed! Being completely natural, it has the potent cleaning power to make white stuff whiter, and yet it’s gentle enough for sensitive skins, baby skins, skins with allergies and conditions such as acne and eczema. It is biodegradable and safe to use with grey water (but it will only be suitable for plants that like a slightly alkaline soil type, as all soaps are alkaline by nature). The making of boerseep requires science, art and more than a little muscle. By nature it is a hand-made product. It is easy to get it wrong and produce a blotchy, unevenly textured and discoloured soap. A top-notch boerseep should be completely white, creamy and compact, with an even texture. Well, this is it – the pride-and-joy boerseep of old! Directions for use: Can be used to clean a multitude of household surface, as well as for personal cleaning (like a body soap). Can be used as a dish bar soap – wet your cloth, sponge or brush and rub on the soap until it produces a lather, then apply the tool to clean dishes and repeat as necessary. Same applies to surfaces to be scrubbed, like the bath or shower. To produce a bucket of water to use on large surfaces like floors, windows, carpets, etc, submerse the soap in a bucket of warm water and rub between your hands until it has dissolved sufficiently for your purposes. To use as laundry stain remover, wet the piece of stained cloth then rub the soap on the wet cloth. Rinse and repeat, if necessary. Especially useful for tough stains, grease, reusable menstrual pads, cloth nappies, etc. Or use as a normal body soap. Ingredients: Beef tallow, sodium hydroxide (lye), water.
