Stainless Steel Shaving Bowl for Lathering or Rinsing

$71.1 $92.43
Description A simple yet elegant shaving bowl, to assist the serious shaver with the task at hand… Use it either for working up a lather using a shaving brush and shaving soap / cream, or use it to hold water that wets and warms the brush and razor, and holds water for rinsing. Or have two bowls at hand, one for the lathering, the other for water (and contribute to saving water with each shave!) It is made of single walled stainless steel, thus rust resistant. It is also light to hold and smooth to use. And it’s made to last a lifetime, if not longer! Directions for use: To lather, method 1: Use a wet, warm shaving brush to lightly over shaving soap then use the brush to swirl it in the bowl, or squirt viscose shaving cream / gel into the bowl and swirl the brush over it. Keep swirling until a lather has built up to your liking, then apply to skin with the brush to spread the lather for shaving. To lather, method 2: Cut shaving soap into small chunks, then use about 30g of the chunks and melt it in the bottom of the shaving bowl. A microwave, open fire or double broiler works well. Use low heat to melt it slowly, otherwise the soap might burn or the ingredients may degrade. Once the shaving soap has melted and formed a smooth layer at the bottom of the bowl, let it set for a day. A translucent layer may form at the top, don’t worry about it. The shaving soap that has set at the bottom of the bowl is now much easier to lather up directly in the bowl, and should last around 3 months. For shaving, use a wet, warm brush, add a few drops of water to the bowl, and swirl the brush over the cast soap at the bottom of the bowl. Work up a lather to your liking, then apply to skin with a brush to spread the lather for shaving. After shaving, scrape excess shaving foam back into the bowl, where it will help to lather quicker on next use. To rinse: Use warm (but not piping hot) water to fill the bowl about 3 quarters to the top. Soak shaving brush and razor in the warm water for a minute or two, then use it to shave. Rinse the razor in the warm water between strokes. Shaving bowl care: After shaving, rinse and clean the bowl (ensure all hair is gone). If using the lathering method 2, no need to rinse, but do remove any hair, wipe the sides clean, and remove excess water, if any. Wipe it thoroughly with a towel to dry. Store in a dry place. With proper care, the bowl can last decades. Materials: Stainless steel Size and other specifications: Diameter – 10cm Height – 3.5cm Packaging: None Country of Origin: Made in India
