Note that as with all saponified bars, this is a mildly alkaline shampoo, meaning that after washing your hair, you should rinse with something acidic, like a dash of lemon juice or vinegar, to pH balance the alkalinity. It works wonderfully! While there are shampoo bars available that are not saponified and formulated to be pH balanced, these bars are typically made with synthetically derived ingredients to solidify and balance it, and it is typically more costly. Why use a shampoo bar instead of shampoo liquid? Because a bar needs zero packaging… therefore zero-waste! Directions for use: Apply shampoo to wet hair and lather using your fingertips. Massage well over the hair and scalp. Rinse hair thoroughly with clean water. Rinse with apple cider vinegar or lemon juice as a conditioner, if desired – this will impart extra lustre and pH balance hair and scalp, thus preventing drying out.
