Description Simply Bee’s Roll-On Deodorant is all natural, mild, aluminium-free and alcohol-free. It is particularly suitable for people with delicate or sensitive skin, that might be unable to use normal deodorants. Notably, it does not contain any aluminium, which use in deodorants and antiperspirants has been linked to a marked increase in breast cancer. The pleasant unisex scent will work great for anyone, with a strong, spicy aroma. With a range of strong anti-bacterial, anti-fungal essential oils and carriers, beeswax and propolis, it uses the nature’s treasure chest to keep you fresh all day long. A few notes on natural deodorants: Note this is not an antiperspirant, it is a deodorant, meaning it will not block your sweat pores, allowing you to sweat naturally (which is the healthy thing to do – blocking sweat pores leads to an increase in build up of toxins in your body, whereas sweating rids your body of those internal toxins). Also, most antiperspirants use aluminium to block sweat pores, which is in turn absorbed by your skin and your mammary glands. Research has shown a significant increase in breast cancer incidence, linked to the use of aluminium-containing antiperspirants. On the other hand, a deodorant does not block sweat pores. It works by (a) preventing bacterial growth that causes sweat to smell bad, and (b) masking any bad odours with pleasant odours. Therefore even though you will be sweating naturally, you won’t stink. Not all deodorants are equal, especially when it comes to natural deodorants, but this is one of the more effective ones out there! And boy, does it smell great! Also note that when switching to natural deodorants from commercial antiperspirants, you should expect that your body has a big build up of toxins (such as mineral salt deposits). When you stop using antiperspirants, your body will go through a detoxing transition period, where those toxins will be released through sweat in a relatively short time span. This transition period varies from a couple of days to about a month, duration varies per person (genetics, lifestyle and diet play a role!) During this period, it might seem that a natural deodorant is ineffective, but that is because you are sweating more than usual and your sweat is more concentrated with toxins, that cause odour-inducing bacterial growth. However, as noted, it is healthy and normal to detox through sweat – your body is designed this way. Try to stick out the transition period, thereafter you should find the natural deodorant works to prevent bad odours. If you are worried about odours during the transition period, do it during cold weather.
