Description Lula is a Zulu word that means easy and convenient. Lula Cup aims to make periods easier and more convenient. It does so in the following ways: Affordability – Lula Cup is the most affordable menstrual cup on the SA market. One cup costs roughly as much as 5 or 6 packets of disposable pads, but can be cleaned and reused for up to 7 years or more. That’s a lot of money saved! Sustainability – Reusing a cup for up to 7 years or more, as opposed to using multiple disposables for several days each month, means a lot less waste gets put in the natural ecosystems and landfill. Ending Period Poverty – Pink Tax is real, and causes a lot of school girls to miss a lot of school days. Lula Cup donates 1 cup for every 10 cups sold. The donations are distributed to underprivileged girls in need, alongside period education, to help avoid them missing school days, and to provide human dignity. Periods should not be a shame, and should not hold any one back in life! BONUS: Holisteeq will match Lula Cup: for every 10 we sell, we’ll donate another one, through them! The cups are made from FDA-approved food-grade silicone, cast in a shape that fits most women. It is free of latex, BPA, nitrosamine and other harmful chemicals associated with plastic or low-quality cheap silicone blends. Switching to a cup can be daunting, and it takes a bit of practise to master the technique to insert. The Lula Cup comes with an easily understandable pamphlet and instruction pictures, that guides you through the whole process, and makes the switch a little easier. It also comes with a pink satin draw-string pouch, that makes storage discreet. Directions for use: The Lula Cup comes with detailed instructions and diagrams. Refer to instruction leaflet for details. When period starts, boil the cup in water for 10 minutes to sterilize it, or use a menstrual cup sterilising liquid and rinse well. For use, fold the cup in whichever way you prefer, take the position you prefer, then insert it into yourself. Feel to make sure the cup has sealed around the rim, if not, pull it downwards or adjust it so it seals well. Remove if you need to use the toilet, rinse and reinsert. It can be used in this way for the entire duration of the period. At the end of the period, sterilize it again and air dry before storing.
